Rep Club × Day Brièrre Limited-Edition Scarf

This one is lore-heavy. Rep Club partnered with one of our favorite artists, Day Brièrre, to create a limited-edition scarf that doubles as both gift wrap and keepsake. Inspired by the mythology of Rep Club itself—namely our dearly departed pet fishes Jil Scott & Gill Scott (iykyk) to our matriarchal lineage—this scarf is a tribute to where we come from and the folklore that carried us here. Like all of Day's work, the illustration is intentional and symbolic, pulling from ancestral memory, ritual, literature and play. Our goal was to create something beautiful and practical. Use it as elevated furoshiki-style gift wrap, tie it around your hair at bedtime, or frame it like the artwork it is. Printed on silky smooth, lightweight Polyester Satin Chiffon fabric with a rich hand feel and saturated color, this scarf was designed to live many lives. It's the gift that keeps gifting.

About the Artist
Day Brièrre is a Haitian-American ceramicist and illustrator based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work draws from Afro-Indigenous myths, folklore, and spiritual systems, with a practice rooted in vessels, storytelling, and ancestral continuity. Her illustrations explore homeland, ritual, and inherited knowledge—making her the only choice for a piece this personal. Limited-edition.

About Rep Club

Reparations Club (aka Rep Club) is a Black, queer, and woman-owned bookshop & creative space Curated by Blackness® in Los Angeles, CA. Founded by South Central born and bred creative director Jazzi McGilbert, our culture-centered space is an essential hub for deep thought, storytelling, and community, known for our warmth, programming, and distinct curation of Black & BIPOC titles since 2019.

Located in the heart of the largest Black community on the West Coast, our vibrant storefront is full of carefully curated displays, cozy reading nooks, and a space designed for both discovery and connection. Through authenticity, literary events, film clubs, and community workshops, we've created a literary salon celebrating diverse voices and perspectives.

Since opening in 2019, Rep Club has collaborated with their homies in the community and beyond, including: Well Read Black Girl, Noname's Book Club, The Stacks, California African American Museum, Cuties LA, Melody Ehsani, Nike, Virgil Abloh, Beyoncé, and many more. Rep Club has been featured in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Selby, LAist, and more, and has been named a favorite by hometown heroes like Issa Rae, Tyler the Creator, and Tessa Thompson.

Most importantly, Rep Club has won the hearts and minds of a community of writers, locals, and tourists alike. Through Rep Club, we continue to disrupt the literary status quo, creating opportunities for connection and creativity through literature and cultural stewardship. As we grow, we’re committed to expanding our impact through innovative programming, spacemaking, and creating more platforms for our voices to not only be heard, but supported and celebrated.
